Together for Gaza. Together with Gazeta.pl we are raising funds to support its residents

We have partnered with Gazeta.pl to raise funds for the transport and maintenance of Jordanian doctors working in the war-torn Gaza Strip. Thanks to this initiative, anyone in Poland can support the people of Gaza, who are fighting for their lives every single day under dramatic conditions.

The Gaza Strip has been struggling with a humanitarian crisis for years, which in recent months has reached catastrophic proportions. There is a lack of food, water, medicines, and access to basic healthcare. Local hospitals, such as al-Aqsa in Deir al-Balah, are overcrowded, and planned admissions have been suspended. Despite Gaza being cut off from the world, there are still real ways to help. One of them is sending Arabic-speaking doctors to provide direct assistance to affected civilians.

– Our doctors cannot keep up with the number of patients: planned admissions were suspended long ago, and most of those coming to the hospitals are people injured in shelling and bombings. Every form of support for their mission is a chance to save someone’s health and life. The victims of this war are children, fathers, mothers, elderly people. They are people just like us – says Małgorzata Olasińska-Chart, our Director of Humanitarian Aid Programs.

Thanks to the funds raised, more teams of doctors from Jordan and other Arab countries, organized by Jordan Health Aid Society International (JHAS Int.), will be able to serve monthly shifts at the al-Aqsa hospital in Gaza. Each team, during one month, performs over 150 surgeries and provides more than 1,000 medical consultations. This is real, life-saving aid for people deprived of access to medical care.

We also see the frustration among our readers who feel powerless in the face of the difficulties of delivering humanitarian aid. Now we can point to a concrete way in which everyone can support the people of Gaza. Editorial coverage of the war in the Middle East is important and widely discussed. By using this, we want to inform as broadly as possible about how ordinary people can get involved in helping Gaza – says Ewa Walas, acting editor-in-chief of Gazeta.pl.

We have been present in the Middle East for years, supporting local medical facilities. We help both in Gaza itself, by sending Arabic-speaking doctors, and in the West Bank, where we operate mobile clinics in Area C. We have also provided medical supplies, clothing, and baby formula, and we cooperate with local organizations.
