The medical rescue team does not slow down – we spend the warm months to acquire new skills and prepare ways of cooperation with the support of leaders, so that when the need arises, we can take part in rescue operations without any obstacles.
In April, 14 team members of PMM VASCO Emergency Team underwent certified PHTLS training – pre-hospital care for a patient after injury. For two days in Biskupice near Częstochowa, in stagings prepared especially for the needs of the training, they practiced the next stages of providing aid, from the moment of the accident and identifying the needs, to the transfer of the injured to the next medical team.
Then, during the last days of April, the EMT team visited St. Pantelejmon in Lviv, where he conducted triage training for the medical staff of the emergency department, in particular doctors and nurses. The training, based on the latest guidelines and good practices, concerned the management of the emergency department, both in everyday work and in conditions of a mass influx of the wounded and sick, which is particularly important in a war-torn country. This is another meeting of representatives of the emergency team and local medical staff, after last year’s stay in Jordan, which is part of the educational activities of PMM Vasco Emergency Team.
The trip brought many conclusions and opened the possibility of further cooperation with colleagues from Ukraine – summed up Piotr Szetelnicki, PMM Vasco Emergency Team leader.
